We couldn’t build our community without you. Here are some of the many ways you can support our top-ranked school. Just indicate your preference when you click the Donate Now button.

Our biggest needs

1. Support our general operating fund

To continue providing top-ranked education in a caring environment that feels like family, LPA is committed to providing our students the best teachers, supplies and resources possible. Because schools are underfunded, we often find ourselves making tough decisions about what we can and can’t afford to do. This is where our donors can make the difference, by contributing to our general operating fund. Donations are allocated where needed the most.

2. Chromebooks – $300/student or $7,200/class

We would like to provide each middle school student a Chromebook to work with each day. Each Chromebook costs $300, with the set-up fees.

Other needs

3. Uniforms – $20 per student/day or $100 per student/week

Often, students need help to acquire school uniforms. On average, these uniforms cost $20/day or $100 for five outfits for a full week. You can either donate that amount and we will purchase the uniforms, or you can buy them directly and bring them to school. In particular, we need uniforms for older students (size 12-16 kids, or smalls to larges in adults).

 4. Supplies for Investigations class – $50-$500 materials/week

Investigations is an interdisciplinary block where students explore content and understanding through inquiry, creativity and problem-solving. Students apply concepts through innovative lenses—participating in the design of learning and pulling in concepts from each content area to support a robust, dynamic learning experience. During this block, students lead their learning, while teachers offer support and guiding questions. Each quarter, we offer special Investigations areas such as architecture, entrepreneurship, drama, speech, debate and agriculture.

This kind of learning requires many materials as students use design thinking—building their knowledge concretely at first and growing toward the abstract. Donations purchase the many materials required to allow students to explore concepts, make mistakes and start over again—gaining knowledge along the way.

5. Sponsor a child in aftercare – $12/day or $225/month (full-time enrollment)
6. Sponsor a child in a club – prices vary from $10/student to $100/student
7. Sponsor a teacher going to professional development – costs vary but are typically $100-$300/session per teacher.
  • To drop off donations, bring them to 1900 Lafayette Avenue from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm weekdays. Each donation is tax deductible, so please indicate the value of the item, so that we may provide you with the appropriate documentation.
