“The parents and families of LPA are a shining example of the magic that happens when students, teachers, families, administrators, and the community work together to create great experiences for our students.” Christy Murphy, Instructional Coach

Lafayette Preparatory Academy is committed to strengthening our community by providing a high-quality school choice to families living in St. Louis’s urban core. Founded in 2013 and sponsored by the University of Missouri-St. Louis, we opened with 74 students in two Kindergarten classes, one 1st Grade and one 2nd Grade. We currently serve 308 hardworking, energetic K-7th grade students and anticipate our first eight grade in the 2019-2020 school year.

In order to accommodate our growth and after occupying two temporary locations, we renovated our current elementary building for the 2016-2017 school year. Our elementary school building enhanced one of St. Louis’ great historical neighborhoods by transforming an abandoned building to a thriving elementary school.  In this building, LPA is committed to providing students of St. Louis a school in which they can thrive and grow. It is our belief that all students should have access to great schools. LPA strives to serve students in an intentionally diverse environment that values each and every person within our community, providing each student that which he or she needs to achieve his or her goals. Through providing access to great education, LPA is a critical part of creating an exciting future for our city.

As we continue to grow, so must our facility. We are currently building an addition to our current building. Our addition will provide space for our 6th through 8th grade program.
