Counselor

Natalie Gould is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) that specializes in child and adolescent counseling. She is currently finishing supervision and training hours to become a Registered Play Therapists-Supervisor (RPT-S). Mrs. Gould has a Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She assists staff, parents, and children to build resilience and skills to succeed both socially and academically. Natalie is placed at LPA full time and meets with children during seasonal breaks. She has been a part of the LPA team since January 2017 and has enjoyed becoming part of our community.

Ms. Howard is very excited for her second full year at LPA! She loves being a part of the LPA team and getting to know all of the students as they filter past the front desk. Before joining our team she was a technical recruiter and decided she wanted to go back and get her teaching certificate. Ms. Howard spends a lot of her free time studying, but when she's not busy doing that, she enjoys time in her new home with her dog, Theodore, and exploring St. Louis.

Ciera is excited to transition into a new role at LPA. She is a graduate of East Alton Wood River High School with secondary education from Lewis and Clark Community College as well as the Southern IL University of Edwardsville. Her love for learning began at a young age and she is committed to the belief that ever child deserves a quality education. As a fairly new resident to St Louis, Ciera is eager to begin exploring ways to be actively involved in the community she lives in. Before LPA Ciera directed 2 afterschool programs and was a Teacher’s Assistant at Montessori Children’s House in Godfrey IL. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, exploring the city, and spending time outdoors with her 9 month old yellow lab.

Instructional Coach

Jill McInnis is excited to work as an Instructional Coach at Lafayette Preparatory Academy. Jill graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2009 with her degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and is finishing her Master's in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading from the University of Missouri- St. Louis this year. Jill has experience working with students from many different backgrounds in both St. Louis County and St. Louis City, and she was the founding Kindergarten teacher at LPA. Jill loves working at Lafayette Prep! Jill likes to hang out with her family and friends, travel, read, walk her dog, and explore this wonderful city that we live in when she is not at LPA.

Christy is excited to be back at LPA after a year away. Christy was a fourth grade teacher at LPA for two years. She also taught third grade and worked as a Program Director for a mentoring and tutoring program in Saint Louis Public Schools. She attended William Jewell College and Lindenwood University, earning her M.A.T. in Elementary Education. Her unwavering belief in the special gifts of every student drives her teaching every single day. Christy is from rural Missouri, but now enjoys living in Benton Park. She frequents ice cream shops, hiking trails, and the many restaurants along Cherokee Street with her husband and two kids.

Counselor

Brianne Overton is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) that specializes in child and adolescent counseling. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at University of Missouri – St. Louis in counselor education and supervision. Ms. Overton has two Master’s degrees; one in Thanatology from Hood College and the second in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. As the school counselor, Ms. Overton is here as part of a team working with parents, school staff, and community resources to help make school a caring and supportive place for our children. She will work to help students overcome barriers to their progress in their academic, social, and emotional growth by providing individual and small group counseling, fostering positive peer relationships, providing classroom guidance. Brianne enjoys working with students and having the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children. She is looking forwarding to the upcoming school year!

Ta’Nisha Pirtle was born and raised in St.Louis Missouri and previously worked at Preclarus Mastery Academy as a front desk assistant. She is also currently enrolled as a junior at the illustrious Harris Stowe State University and is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is extremely excited to be on board here at LPA and cannot wait to be a helping hand to the LPA Staff and families. She’s very happy to have this opportunity to gain more experience in a school setting. When she is not working or studying she spends her time watching anime, sketching, reading books, and spending time with her family.

Librarian

Roberta Williams is very happy to be school librarian and substitute teacher at LPA. After retiring from her 20+ year career teaching preschool and kindergarten in a suburb of Los Angeles and moving to St Louis, she felt a part of her was missing. She is very happy to have joined LPA, where she can continue working with children and sharing her love of reading. She enjoys bringing her cart full of books to students each week from the school library and is on call to substitute teach or help out in any way LPA needs her. She earned her BA in Elementary Education at Ball State University, Certificate in Early Childhood Development from UCLA and Masters in Multicultural Education from the University of California, Dominguez Hills. When not at LPA, she might be scraping away at 100+ years of paint in her historic home, riding her bike around Tower Grove Park, or digging in her garden.
