Parents, please follow these steps to ensure LPA is a good fit for your family and to complete the process for applying to our school:

  1. Review the website and application materials.
  2. Complete this quick survey to gain access to the online application.
  3. Submit the application and all supporting documents. Applications will not be considered complete until after a Family Tour* is conducted and all forms are submitted, including supporting documents.
    • *Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Virtual Family Tour is available here. Once you have completed it, you will be prompted to contact LPA. At the end of the tour, directions are given for submitting your application.
  4. Once each week, our enrollment team contacts applicants to confirm all forms have been received. If you prefer, you can contact us at 314-880-4458 or enroll@lafayetteprep.org to make sure all forms have been received.

Who is eligible to attend LPA?

  • Children entering pre-kindergarten to seventh grade in the upcoming school year are eligible to apply to LPA.
    • Children applying for kindergarten must be five years old on or before October 1st for the year in which they are applying.
    • Children applying for pre-kindergarten must be three years old on or before for the year in which they are applying.
  • Children living in the City of St. Louis are eligible to apply to LPA. Please see ‘Preferential Enrollment’ below for more information regarding the catchment zone policy.

When can you apply?

Right now! Applications received before 9/30/21 will be considered for enrollment in the 2021 – 2022 school year. Applications received after 9/30/21 will be considered for enrollment in the 2022 – 2023 school year.

How do you apply?

  2. The online application will be delivered to the email you share in the survey.

First Enrollment Period: October 1st – 2nd Thursday of March

If a lottery is held, it will take place on the third Tuesday of March. Applicants will be notified the third Tuesday of March of their enrollment status, either “Accepted” or “Waitlist.”  To accept, admitted applicants need to notify LPA within five business days or the spot will be considered open to other students.

Second Enrollment Period: Day after 2nd Friday in March – June 1st

If a lottery is held, it will take place on the Tuesday after June 1st. To accept, admitted applicants need to notify LPA within five business days or the spot will be considered open to other students.

All notifications of acceptance will occur through the email provided on the application.

When will you know if you’ve been accepted?

LPA staff will contact you within three days of being accepted via the email provided in the application. Acceptance is determined after the last day of the enrollment period.

If a lottery is held, LPA staff will let you know of your placement via the email provided on your application within three days.

After being notified of your acceptance, you will have five business days to confirm your placement—using the survey link provided in the acceptance email. If your confirmation is not received, the spot will be considered open and offered to another family.

Preferential enrollment at LPA

LPA gives preference for admission of children whose siblings attend our school. We also give preferential enrollment to children of LPA employees and board members who live within the St. Louis Public School District.

LPA gives first preference for admission of children who live within the 1st Catchment Zone, second preference for those who live within the 2nd Catchment Zone and third preference for students living anywhere within St. Louis City:

  • 1st Catchment Zone: On or south of Convention Plaza and its Westward Expansion, West of the Mississippi River, on or North of Arsenal, on or East of Grand.
  • 2nd Catchment Zone: On or south of Cass Ave. and its Westward Expansion, West of the Mississippi River, on or North of Chippewa, on or East of Kingshighway.
  • 3rd Catchment Zone: within St. Louis City limits.
