Charter schools such as LPA are held accountable in many of the same ways as traditional public schools. But there are some differences. For example, charter schools operate under a contract and are sponsored by a public entity such as a state university. The charter school and sponsor outline specific academic and non-academic outcomes in a performance contract, to which the sponsor holds the charter school accountable.
A charter school must have a sponsor to open and continue operating. LPA is proud to have the University of Missouri—St. Louis (UMSL) as our sponsor.
